I think i speak for every one asking *when can we get a kit*?

FAQ: can you go 20 microns or even less? 0.02mm - this guy managed to make it with an ULTIMAKER 3D printer using ABS plastic

  2. So when do we get the printer kit?
    I want to buy one.

  4. I LOVE YOUR WORK. Thank your very much for developing this printer and giving us hope to get affordable high quality prints!
I am a jewellery designer and I was waiting for those pictures ;-)
I can't wait to have a VELOSO on my desktop.

  7. Wow the amount of detail is amazing!! I would really like to have one of these printers at home! I'm eagerly waiting for you to post the next details! And hopefully you have an estimation on when we an build one our selves soon.

  8. If I had a project like this, I wouldn't go to work any more.

Keep us updated Junior. I'm ready to buy as soon as you can promise at least a 6"x6"x6" build envelope and more than 1 type of resin.

    ReplyDelete
  9. That's great! The resin layers are so thin... Incredible to have these results with a low-cost machine. Congratulations. Mattia.

  10. Hi,

I really love the project, and would like to help you to bring it further.

I can maybe help you with the cost reduction, and for sure with the external design of the machine.

  13. Awesome. I really want to purchase this kit. Im in the market and have looked at objet (apparently has good detail but finishing process can break small parts and the purge is pretty nasty I hear). I also looked at uprint but the rez sucks, bad stepping too. The vflash shows promise but I cant really tl what the quality is. Your printer is the best in its class so far brutha. This is on par with the projet hd 3000 (awesome quality and easy support mbaterial cleanup by just melting the wax but super high cost for the hardware itself). Pleeeeeeease give us a rough even unreliablestimate so we can sleep at night. I check this blog like a pathetic loser every night befori go to bed in hope that you have posted new pics and kit info. Cant wait. Amazing job. Keep it up man!

  14. When can have a price for the Kit I am saving already the money to buy the soon is possible

  15. Another amazing post! I am in the middle of jewellery school and can't wait to use one of these for projects :) keep it up junior!

  18. Hello Veloso's team ;-)
May I ask the max. dimensions that this high-precision version of the printer can achieve? In other words, what are the measures of the parallelepiped that you can print from this basin of resin? Thanks in advance.
    Mattia

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm waiting in line for one too! You have a "hit" here!

    ReplyDelete
  20. your work is just amazing !

    ReplyDelete
  27. So ???? what is new. I take so long time...

    ReplyDelete
  28. Does Junior left the project???

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hi Junior Veloso,

As another greedy anxious follower wanting to get one of your kits and build something amazing from someone (You) that has done something Absolutely COOL! I have a request - Please don't sell out to a large 3D Systems corporation before you do release some of your magic kits to we the not too undeserving.

Thanks for the things you've shown - VERY EXCITING!

    Warmest of Regards, Brian Stott.

Oh, have you seen what Andrea Rossi is doing to change the world with E-CAT?

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't know if you have a list. But, I'd like you to know I sure want to be on it for your kit!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Guess, it's not going to happen........ :-( I knew it was too good to be true.

  32. hello.
    can i please ask.
    (1) are you working alone or with a team ?
    (2) are you developing this in america or europe ?
    (3) when will be the first kit release of this product ?
    (4) Can you setup a proper website with forum, so people can really start getting involved in this project.
    (5) How can your printer produce such high resolution modelling compared with ultimaker etc?
    (6) Can you show on your blog or dedicated website more sample photos of what you can create.

I really hope to hear back from you.
I am searching for a good quality affordable 3d printer for my company curently.

    thanks and best wishes.

  33. I need one nooowwwww! I'm a master goldsmith and have a design that would have slightly different lettering on each one. I can't afford the $40k - $60k (USD) for a commercial unit. I want to get this up and running ASAP. I have customers waiting and can't keep up doing hand carving for each one. I'll be happy to test out a betta unit just to get it sooner. Please let me know how much and how soon. By the way, to the guy that mentioned the v-flash, I've checked it out and the resolution is only half as good, and if you need to burnit out, forget it, it leaves way too much ash. You would have to use a poured RTV molding material (it cracks with the stresses of a vulcanizer) and then inject wax to get something that you could cast.

  37. Keep up the nice work Junior. Please give us an update soon!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm sorry but if it works (and looks really good) because they do not sell the kit or the drawings of the project. Then you can always sell upgrades in the future as does the Mendel or RepRap. many of us are waiting for it seems the happy medium between the professional and home like RepRap, but I do not know the price when it comes out, it features dimensional stability and mechanical seal resin. Can you please give the information? Anyway thanks for what you do, you're great! regards Mark

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hi! Did I miss something? Still waiting for the update. Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  40. You should also try polyurethane modified acrylic resins

    ReplyDelete
  41. knock knock, are you still here junior ?
Or did the men in black got you ? :)

  43. You're exposing the resin from the bottom side? How on Earth does that work? Um... I'll take two!

    ReplyDelete
  44. PLEASE, Please update on ETA and rough idea on cost. I am setting up a RP bureau service and really need good news on cost!!!!
Can you estimate time per print? (should you print 25mm height)
Also does this material burn out reliably?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Now it's been a few weeks ... You should keep us up to date :)
Just a few words, so I can sleep well at night. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  46. considering the excellent results obtained, why not make available the current kit and are more like those of the RepRap eventually sell in the future upgrades? I can not wait! anyway, congratulations

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm absolutely shocked. This is amazing!!!. amazing is also the way it is built! its visually impresive too!! look at that quality!

Hope this project is not absorbed by a big corp as I've seen happen with many promising apps in the 3d-cad world to just simply remove it from its way.>>>

    Give us more vids! :)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hi Junior

I'm also a jewelry designer and in fact i was looking for a 3D printer for that purpose, but I was not fully satisfied with the end result of the different printers, until i came across your blog and stumpled upon your pictures of the rings, and that was exactly the kind of detail I was looking for, such small details as the letters on the ring in the lower left picture.

I really hope you will succeed with this, there is a really big market out there for such printers, and not only for the people who build spare parts or even other types of printers, but also goldsmiths and people like me who would like to be able to cast high detailed jewelry at home.

I'm looking forward to see and hear more about your project..

  59. Hi Junior!
I won't comment on the project, everything has been said by the others :)
Is it possible to have a way to contact you more directly, I can't find a contact form or email address somewhere.

Our ZBrush artists may be glad to know about your printer as soon as it is release!

Keep the good work on your awesome project!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Is this project still alive? :P

    ReplyDelete
  65. I see that you hven't posted for the past two months and I hope all is well with you. I would like to get this kit as soon as posible, and would be willing to put up some money to help finance the completion of this project to get my kit (or finished printer) sooner rather than later. Just tell me how.

    ReplyDelete
  66. You know, I was thinking, if you made only $250(US) profit on each printer, you could probably make $175,000 the first year alone, and retire in 5 or 10 years. I'm just saying, it would well be worth your while to get this on the market.

    ReplyDelete
  67. please write something about how strong/hard/flexible/brittle the material is.
It's properties, like heat and water resistant ?

Thanks - keep up the great work.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Interested to know more about the material. Is it like ABS plastic? Can it be glued with a plastic cement/solvent-type glue? Thanks!

Like everyone else who is posting i am very impressed with your work.
Can you update your FAQ's to include a dimensions for printing.

Any progress on when will be available ?

    ReplyDelete
  76. This is really great - I would like more info on where to buy or how to build, and on how we can contribute to the project in any way. I am a software developer from a range of industries, and my wife is an industrial designer (hence the pressure from her side).

  87. Dear Junior,

No news about you, is your project is still valid?
Or is 3Dsystems have already bought your technology ;-))))

    Best regards.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I, like everyone else, am very enthused about your machine. It has been almost three months now with no indication of where you even still are going to be offering this amazing printer publicly. I don't think that you will have any problems selling your product at all with all of the interest from this blog alone. Please let us know if you are still worknig on this or if you are done. You have done a great job on this Junior, don't give up on it.

    ReplyDelete
  89. hi there, junior. just wondering: are u still working on this project or is it dead? just because there aren't that much updates lately... i'm currently building a mendel prusa, but i'm very interested in your project!

let something hear from you :)! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  90. 105 days since you updated this blog dude - is the project dead? Has something happened to you? Give us a clue. I don't want to hassle a guy that has more important things going on in his life. But if you are on it - I have money waiting for one of these!!

    ReplyDelete
  91. When my tax return comes back, I want one! Hope you update sometime in the next 5-7 weeks.
Even if it's to let us know you aren't dead!

    ReplyDelete
  92. This is absolutely brilliant!!! I model low to high poly 3D objects all the time, I've only recently started looking into making my designs and objects 3D. I wish you all the best and hope you come out with this soon!!!

    ReplyDelete
  93. i just found this blog but there hasnt been any update in months. i think this project might be dead. :(

    ReplyDelete
  94. That is awesome! You did well to build as a drawing upwards instead of build upon layers. Also using the liquid plastic (resin?) solves the layering (resolution) problem I see in many printers.

I will definitely be buying one from ya when you are ready to mass produce.
Make damn sure you patent ASAP.

I am looking forward to you next posts.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I think I speak for everyone when I say that an update can't come soon enough! I understand how everyone has a life to live outside of their internet projects, but this 3D printer is too awesome to be forgotten. Great work, hope to hear more about it soon.

  102. Please...Let the world know the status of the project! WE ARE WAITING

    ReplyDelete
  103. Hey Veloso, how´s your project going on? It's been a long time since you gave the last update.

Are you running into problems? in time, technical, or in funding? Or are you just progressing as planned and are there just no cool thing to show?

I hope it goes well because the products of your printer make all the plastic deposit printerproducts look like rubish. I'm serious, the others have a nice geek factor but to be honest the products are crude and for me they are useless.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Have you considered that many of us already own cnc machines, that would require little modding, rather than building from scratch?

    ReplyDelete
  105. glad you are still working on this awsome printer
    keep on the good job

    ReplyDelete
  106. When I saw your twitter post come up on the blog I was very excited. It is good to hear that you are almost done. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these.

  108. You are genius. We are working on the same project at my school. But we were projecting from above and submersing the item, this seems much better. Though I'm curious, how do you prevent the object from sticking to the bottom layer of glass?

    ReplyDelete
  109. So glad you're back! Can't wait for an update :)

About the Project

I have been dreaming about having a 3D Printer at home for many years, but the ones with good quality are not affordable and the low costs just deliver poor quality. Sounds crazy but I decided to build a high resolution 3D Printer by myself at home (people actually said that I was crazy and this was impossible). The funny thing I never saw this type of machines in real life, and still haven’t seen one besides the one I built.

Now that I succeed building the first prototype, the target is to bring this low cost 3D Printer to every home, so we are developing the first affordable one with high resolution.

I hope you enjoy our blog, follow us and you can have this printer in your home soon.
